Water Separators

Keeping your fuel clean is critical for reliable boating. Contaminated fuel affects performance and can dramatically increase wear and tear on your engine. Countless small dirt particles are already in the fuel before it reaches your boat – and that’s where Yamaha water-separating fuel filters come in.

Genuine Yamaha fuel/water separators are engineered to efficiently remove water and debris before it enters the fuel pumps or injection system. Without one, dirty fuel can block internal passages, cause poor performance, or even complete engine failure.

Unlike standard 35/27-micron filters, Yamaha’s 10-micron filter elements trap extremely fine contaminants and water. These filters are strongly recommended for all outboards, especially EFI and HPDI models.

Always choose a filter with a litres-per-hour (LPH) rating higher than your engine’s LPH requirement (found in your owner’s manual). A filter that is too large will not cause any issues — but a filter that is too small or clogged can restrict fuel flow and potentially damage your engine.
